CP BAKORI DECORATES 956 PROMOTED OFFICERS, CHARGES THEM ON PROFESSIONALISM AND SERVICE
The Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, _CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis_, today decorated 956 officers who benefitted from the recent promotion exercise approved by the Police Service Commission.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Bompai Police Headquarters, Kano, had beneficiaries drawn from across the Command’s operational formations. The promotions cut across all the _11 Area Commands, 78 Police Divisions, and other Police Formations_ under the Kano State Police Command, reflecting the wide reach of the recent advancement.
The ceremony began with the Commissioner conveying the congratulations of the _Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Ridwan Disu, PSC(+), NPM_, to all newly promoted personnel. CP Bakori commended the IGP for his sustained commitment to personnel welfare, career progression, and morale-boosting initiatives across the Nigeria Police Force.
Addressing some of the decorated officers, CP Bakori charged them to reciprocate the gesture through renewed dedication and exemplary conduct. He emphasized that the promotion was based strictly on _competence, seniority, and merit_, and urged the beneficiaries to:
i. _Rededicate themselves to selfless service_ to the nation and to the people of Kano State;
ii. _Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity_ in the discharge of their duties;
iii. _Be good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force_ both on and off duty;
iv. _Exhibit conduct that inspires public trust and confidence_ in the institution.
The Commissioner further reminded the officers that promotion comes with greater responsibility, and that the Command will continue to monitor performance and reward excellence.
Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, _CPL Saratu Yaru_ expressed appreciation to the Police leadership for the promotion and for the improved welfare packages under the current Inspector-General of Police. She assured the Commissioner that “we will not relent in giving our best in service to the nation, upholding the rule of law, and protecting the lives and property of all residents of Kano State. We see this promotion as a call to greater sacrifice, and we are committed to justifying the confidence reposed in us.”
The Kano State Police Command appreciates the Inspector-General of Police for his visionary leadership and sustained investment in the welfare and professional development of officers and men. The Command remains resolute in its mandate to provide professional, accountable, and people-centered policing in line with the IGP’s strategic vision.
