OGUN POLICE ARREST SECURITY GUARD AND 2 OTHERS FOR CAR THEFT AND RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE IN IBAFO










Operatives of the Ibafo Division, Ogun State Police Command, in swift response to a distress call and credible intelligence, have arrested three suspects, namely Obada Ezekiel ‘M’, aged 27; Emmanuel Timothy ‘M’, aged 25; and Yaya Yakubu ‘M’, aged 27, for conspiracy and theft of a motor vehicle, and recovered a stolen ash-coloured Lexus RX 300 SUV.

The arrest was made on 18th April 2026 at about 1100hrs, following a credible anonymous tip-off which led operatives to track the suspects to a hideout within the Ibafo axis, where the stolen vehicle was recovered in their possession.

The suspects include Obada Ezekiel ‘M’, a private security guard attached to the vehicle, alongside Emmanuel Timothy ‘M’ and Yaya Yakubu ‘M’. Preliminary investigation revealed that the security guard conspired with the two others to steal the vehicle from Lagos and move it to Ibafo for disposal.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, commends the operatives of the Ibafo Division for their swift response, professionalism, and effective utilization of intelligence, which led to the successful arrest and recovery of the stolen vehicle. He further appreciates members of the public for providing timely and useful information, while reiterating the Command’s resolve to sustain intelligence-led policing across the state.
