The operation followed a series of strategic engagements with traditional authorities, the Sagamu Local Government Council, and heads of security agencies aimed at strengthening collaborative security architecture.
The intelligence-led operation, conducted in the early hours of April 13, 2026, targeted identified flashpoints within Sagamu, where suspected criminal elements had been observed to pose threats to public peace and safety. The operation was designed to forestall any breakdown of law and order and reinforce public safety across the area.
