FCT POLICE COMMAND DEPLOYS 1,803 PERSONNEL AND OPERATIONAL ASSETS AHEAD OF 2026 EASTER CELEBRATION
…as CP FCT felicitates with Christians, calls for peace and unity.
The FCT Police Command has strategically deployed one thousand, eight hundred and three (1,803) personnel, alongside operational assets, to churches and recreational centres across the Federal Capital Territory in preparation for the 2026 Easter celebration.
This proactive measure is designed to reinforce existing policing efforts and ensure the safety of worshippers and residents throughout the festive period. The deployment includes enhanced visibility policing, intelligence-led operations, coordinated vehicular and foot patrols, and continuous monitoring aimed at the prompt detection and prevention of criminal activities. In addition, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Units have been tasked with conducting routine sweeps of major public and recreational locations to mitigate potential security threats.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi PhD., fcai, while felicitating with Christian faithful across the Territory, urged residents to embrace the spirit of Easter by promoting peace, unity, and mutual respect. He called on all residents to remain law-abiding and encouraged religious leaders to continue preaching messages of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
The Commissioner further reassures residents of the Command’s firm commitment to the protection of lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations. He also appeals for sustained cooperation with the Police and other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free festive period.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activities through the following emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653.
