ZONE 2 POLICE COMMAND HOLDS WALKATHON IN COMMEMORATION OF 2026 NATIONAL POLICE DAY
As part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day celebration, the Zone 2 Police Command has continued to demonstrate active participation through a series of impactful engagements.
In furtherance of this, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, today led senior officers and personnel of the Command in a Walkathon exercise held on the second day of the commemorative events.
The exercise, which commenced in the early hours of the day, witnessed an impressive turnout of officers and personnel from the zonal headquarters. The initiative highlighted the Command’s commitment to promoting physical fitness, healthy living, and overall well-being among its workforce.
Beyond its health benefits, the Walkathon also served as a platform for strengthening community relations, providing an opportunity for positive interaction between police personnel and members of the public.
Speaking during the event, AIG Jimoh emphasized that the Walkathon goes beyond physical exercise, describing it as a reflection of the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to professionalism, accessibility, and improved public engagement.
The Zone 2 Command remains committed to fostering a people-friendly policing approach while upholding its mandate of ensuring safety and security across its area of responsibility.
