PORTS AUTHORITY POLICE (WESTERN) COMMAND PARTICIPATES IN 2026 NATIONAL POLICE DAY CELEBRATION

The Ports Authority Police (Western) Command under the leadership of CP Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja, psc, mnips, is set to actively participate in the 2026 National Police Day Celebration, a week-long series of activities aimed at strengthening police-community relations, promoting public safety, and honoring the dedication and sacrifices of officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

The theme for this year's celebration is "Community Partnership: Building Trust"

In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, the Command has outlined a comprehensive programme of events within its Area of Responsibility to commemorate the occasion.
Activities will commence on Monday, 30th March 2026, with community-focused outreach programmes, including sanitation exercises and the cleaning of selected public spaces across port environments. Police personnel will also carry out a medical outreach through the Police Medical Units, offering basic healthcare services to members of the public.
On Tuesday, 31st March 2026, officers and stakeholders will participate in a “Walkathon” scheduled to begin at 0600hrs. Participants will be adorned in branded T-shirts, symbolizing unity, fitness, and the shared commitment to safer communities.
The events will continue on Wednesday, 1st April 2026, with stakeholders engagements around the ports. These will focus on the avoidance of electoral violence, including ballot snatching and other related offences, as well as educating drivers on safe driving practices and strict compliance with traffic regulations within and around port corridors.
On Thursday, 2nd April 2026, the Command will join the rest of the Force in honoring fallen heroes through the presentation of cheques to families of deceased officers. This solemn event will take place at the Force Headquarters and across State Commands, reflecting the Force’s commitment to the welfare of officers and their loved ones.
The celebration will culminate in a grand finale on Tuesday, 7th April 2026, at the Eagle Square, Abuja, beginning at 0830hrs. The event will feature ceremonial parades, exhibitions, and recognition of outstanding service within the Force.

The Ports Authority Police (Western) Command reaffirms its dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the maritime domain while fostering stronger partnerships with stakeholders and the general public. Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the scheduled activities and support the Police in building a safer and more secure society.
