—Ogun Police Command lines up events for the National Police Day 2026 celebration
The Ogun State Police Command proudly announces the programme of events for the 2026 National Police Day celebration.
This year’s theme is Community Partnership: Building Trust. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, psc (+), NPM, dedicates the ceremony to fallen heroes who gave their best to serve their fatherland, serving and retired Police officers, stakeholders, and the good people of the state for their invaluable support for the Nigeria Police Force.
The celebration shall witness the following programme of events:
Day 1 – Monday, 30th March 2026.
Medical outreach by the Police Medical Unit at Iwe-Iroyin, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, alongside an environmental sanitation exercise across police formations in the State, in partnership with community stakeholders.
Day 2 – Tuesday, 31st March 2026.
State wide walkathon will be held simultaneously, with starting points at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, as well as area commands and divisions within the State. The walkathon will commence at 0600hrs, and stakeholders are invited to participate as a demonstration of unity, respect, and shared commitment to public safety.
Day 3 – Wednesday, 1st April 2026. Sensitisation campaign across the State, focusing on the prevention of electoral violence, the avoidance of ballot snatching and related offences, as well as educating drivers on safe driving practices and traffic regulations.
Day 4 – Thursday, 2nd April 2026.
Welfare presentation of cheques on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, psc (+), NPM, by the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni psc, at the Command Headquarters, to families of deceased officers, in recognition of their sacrifices to the nation.
CP Bode Ojajuni psc calls on community leaders, women and youth groups, stakeholders and the general public to turn out tumultuously to identify with, and actively participate in the National Police day celebration activities as a demonstration of love.
