POLICE OPERATIVES RESCUES TWO KIDNAPPED VICTIMS UNHURT, ARRESTS ONE AND NEUTRALIZES ONE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, RECOVERS ONE DANE GUN AND THREE ROUNDS OF 7.62×39MM LIVE AMMUNITION IN SHANGA AND MAIYAMA
POLICE OPERATIVES RESCUES TWO KIDNAPPED VICTIMS UNHURT, ARRESTS ONE AND NEUTRALIZES ONE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, RECOVERS ONE DANE GUN AND THREE ROUNDS OF 7.62×39MM LIVE AMMUNITION IN SHANGA AND MAIYAMA.
On the 10th November, 2025 at about 0030hrs, a gang of suspected armed kidnappers invaded kwari village, Giron Masa district, Shanga LGA of Kebbi State, and kidnapped one Niger Suleiman age 24yrs and Yunwa Suleiman age 28yrs all 'm' of kwari village. On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Shanga, mobilized a combined team of Policemen, Army personnel and local vigilantes, pursued and engaged the suspected kidnappers into a fierce gun duel. The high fire power of the combined team of security personnel made the kidnappers to abandoned their victims and took to their heels into the forest with possible fatal gunshot injuries.
Consequently, the two victims were rescued unhurt and have been reunited with their families after medical examination. Similarly, while the operation was ongoing, one Musa Muhammad m age 50yrs Takware village, Shanga LGA was apprehended, three rounds of live and twenty empty shells of 7.62×39mm were also recovered at scene.
In the same vain, on the 10th November, 2025 at about 0345hrs, information received revealed that, hoodlums numbering about eight stormed the residence of one Alhaji Sani 'm' of Botoro Gadi village, Mungadi district of Maiyama LGA of Kebbi State, and kidnapped one Muhafi A. Sani age 28yrs and Shamsiya Aliyu age 30yrs all 'f'.
Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer Maiyama led a combined team of Policemen and local vigilantes, trailed the kidnappers and confronted them. As a result, one of the suspected kidnappers was neutralized, his Dane gun and one empty shell of cartridge were recovered as exhibits.
Efforts are being intensified to rescue the kidnapped victims unhurt and arrest the perpetrators of the darstardly acts.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani had applauded the bravery, professionalism and swift response of the DPOs Shanga and Maiyama, reiterated the Command's readiness to safeguarding the lives and property of the people of the state.
CP Bello M Sani also appealed to the residents of the state to continue supporting Police operations with a view to ensuring a safe and secure environment.
